Verification Policy

Federal regulations require some FAFSA applications to be selected for a process called verification. If selected, students must provide additional documentation before aid can be awarded or disbursed.

ECTC may request:

  • Federal tax transcripts or signed tax returns

  • W-2 forms

  • Household size and number in college verification

  • Proof of identity or high school completion status

Deadlines and Consequences

  • Documentation must be submitted within 30 days of request.

  • No financial aid will be disbursed until verification is complete.

  • Failure to submit documents may result in loss of aid eligibility.
