ECTC Student-Led Transition Program

Supporting veterans and their families is a meaningful commitment for ECTC. Here are various ways ECTC supports veterans and their families:
🎖️ 1. Service Recognition and Gratitude
Veterans have dedicated themselves to national service, often making personal sacrifices. Supporting them is a way to show appreciation for their commitment and to help them transition successfully into civilian life. ECTC recognizes our student veterans throughout the year, especially on Hero's Day and Veteran's Day.
🎓 2. Facilitating Career Transitions
Many veterans possess valuable technical and leadership skills. ECTC can help translate their military experience into civilian credentials, certifications, or degrees that lead to fulfilling careers.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 3. Family Support Enhances Success
By supporting veterans' spouses and dependents, ECTC recognizes the role families play in a veteran’s success. When the whole family is supported—through access to education, counseling, or childcare—veterans are more likely to complete their programs. We also participate in Purple Up Day each year to show support for military families.
đź’Ľ 4. Workforce Readiness
Veterans are often disciplined, goal-oriented, and team-focused—traits that employers value. By educating and training them, ECTC contributes to a stronger, more skilled workforce.
🛠️ 5. Alignment with College Mission
ECTC aims to provide practical, career-focused education. Supporting veterans aligns with this mission by helping them build real-world skills and connect with industries where they can thrive.
🤝 6. Access to Resources and Benefits
Veterans often qualify for educational benefits like the GI Bill, which can be used to attend technical colleges. These benefits help fund the college and expand opportunities for programming, making the partnership mutually beneficial.
